Club Day is this Sunday (18th) 12pm at Chichester College (on the new pitch!) This is where all club members/prospective members are invited along to play a social mixed hockey tournament, before heading to the clubhouse for beer and food. The games are primarily for those who play in adult leagues, but all are welcome back at the clubhouse in Priory Park.

From next Tuesday (23rd), for two weeks, there will be Pre-Season Fitness training at Kingsham from 6pm. It will last for 1/2 an hour and then players are encouraged to play a social mixed game of hockey. Alternatively, the pitch can then used to practice stick skills etc. All players who compete in adult leagues, MALE and FEMALE are invited along. Contact Christina Honan or Phil Renwick for details.

We will be running summer hockey sessions for the ladies every Tuesday evening from the 12th July from 6-7pm at Kingsham (Astro turf pitch at Chichester High School) This is for any current players and those who are interested in joining the club. It is an opportunity to brush up on your skills, gain confidence, have a knock-around and just have a giggle. Bring friends or relatives that might like to try hockey out but have been too nervous to do so. We will have a coach on hand to help out anyone who would like introductory coaching. It will be a zero-pressure relaxed affair so bring everyone along - the more the merrier! Each person will need to bring along £2 to cover the cost of the pitch. If you have a stick and shin-pads, then bring them along. We will do our best to provide spare equipment to those who are completely new to the sport. Also, you ought to be 16 or over to join in. However, if you already play for a ladies team (Cannons included) then you are more than welcome to come along! Hope to see you all there, Lyndsey (Cannons Captain)

1. Please be advised that the Hockey AGM takes place on Friday 20th May 2011, 7pm in the Clubhouse. 2. Thank-you to all who attended the Sussex Cup Finals w/e. All players, spectators and officials enjoyed a great festival of hockey. Despite a narrow defeat for the 3rd XI, the Veterans and 1st XI were crowned Sussex Champions! Full reports in the Chichester Observer. Personally it was fantastic to see so many ‘Little Chi shirts’ enjoying the winning 1st team performance, followed by a game of their own on the College pitch before it is re-laid over the summer holidays. 3. I hope we can put on another great day at the beginning of next season.
